This is an illustrated book ( illustrated with photographs of guitars, of course!) about growing up.
It is my story really and is about the journey from boyhood to manhood, through the 1950s to the new Millenium and beyond, and told through the eyes of someone who has had a love affair with the guitar for as long as he can remember!

This obsession with the guitar, because that is what it is, has dominated my life ever since I heard the instrument as a small boy, on the radio, in the 1950s, whilst listening to the burgeoning sounds of rock and roll and blues from the U.S.A. on Saturday Club with Brian Matthew. Before that I was limited to the odd gem from Buddy Holly and The Crickets on Children's Favourites with Uncle Mac.
What a paucity and dearth of musical excitement we youngsters were subjected to in the decade after The War!
This book puts my record straight and the story will not end until I cease to play, write and record using the greatest of all instruments, the Guitar!
